Olthof Homes has an exceptional reputation for delivering homes on time, on quality and on budget. Join our dynamic team for the summer and you will have the opportunity to gain hands‐on experience and be involved in the construction management process. The program is designed to help develop communication, time management and leadership skills. Our intent is to identify emerging leaders in the Construction Industry that are well suited to join our growing team upon graduation.
The program will last approximately 12 weeks and will include tasks with several departments. Also, a project will be assigned for completion by the end of the internship. Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting Construction Manager with onsite home construction
- Performing quality checks at different stages of construction
- Completing punch‐out work on completed homes
- Participating in Production meetings
- Monitoring schedules
- Checking inspections
- Assisting purchasing manager with collecting and analyzing bids
- Analyzing onsite material delivery to PO quantities
The Project: Learn and understand the Stage II quality checklists. Update the format for two home plans.
At the end of the 12‐week period each intern will be asked for a 15‐minute presentation on their project as well as their summer experience. This will be an opportunity for you to present the project in detail and highlight the skills you will have learned over the summer. This time will also include a review of strengths and weaknesses to help develop the skills needed to excel in the home building industry.
